Commitments

Page history last edited by Philipp Schmidt 9 mos ago

This is a list of tasks we all defined for ourselves at the end of the Berlin workshop in no particular order.

Andrew

  • Write up the license decision making process
  • Final edit of the compendium
  • Research community norms and law, and the tension between them (not sure this will happen as a volunteer)
  • Maybe do a course on this topic (depending on bandwidth, as above)
  • Write up an opendemocracy article on P2PU

Neeru

  • Run the behavioral economics course again
  • Be a mentor to new course organisers
  • Most interested in exploring the feasibility of some of our plans – some of the bigger ones (the accreditation ideas)
  • Work a bit on marketing
  • Run a course online to use the same facilitation process we used for this workshop. Try out if it works online?

Larry

  • Run a course on managing election campaign. Take California as an example, but help people to apply the lessons to their jurisdictions.
  • Work with Philipp and Gary on funding (follow up on funding)

Stian

  • Will try to teach a course in January. Have a few ideas and might like to run it with someone else.
  • Will be working a lot on the tech side with John and Philipp.
  • Very interested in the “learning” - how can we analyze it, how can we learn from others are doing. Work on this.

Alison

  • Facilitate the orientation process (after the orientation methodology has been fixed)
  • Find mentors and place them
  • Run a new and improved Land course with Ann.
  • Help with the small chores that need to be done as they are doled out.

Jane

  • As a cc employee, I might be able to help out with licensing and educating people about that. Finding materials etc., feeding into the course organisers orientation.
  • As myself, I'd be willing to run my course again.
  • I'd like to be involved in the discussions on the future.
  • Really like giving feedback on little things, various things like the web-site, other stuff
  • Help with marketing using the cc connections
  • I will be a mentor.

Rebecca

  • Hope to remain employeed.
  • Help sort out a lot of the systems that we have used for organising course organizers, and organizing students.
  • Work on building up the bank of materials as a “when we needed”. Press release kind of stuff.
  • I am going to hand over the cybercourse to one of my participants
  • I am going to run a course on crochething
  • I am willing to be a mentor.

John

  • Facilitate the web-site redesign process. Manage paid developers. Make sure the community can contribute to the tech development.
  • Set up a P2PU blog and work on setting up a process to make use of it
  • If I have time, I'll run a course.
  • If I don't have time, I'll participate in a course
  • Find some discretionary funds we can use for P2PU

Niels

  • I will mentor
  • I will make a new course, not for January, but afterwards
  • I want to help structure the research that we need to do for P2PU. How can we best assess our models. Work with Stian on this.

Ann

  • Continue to develop relationships with outside organisations that could use P2PU to run courses.
  • See if we can run a permaculture course with the organisation we worked with in India
  • Help Alison redesign the Land course
  • Send postcards from my trips

Delia

  • Continue with Andrew working on the copyright course
  • Great potential to run copyright courses for particular jurisdictions
  • Look at the funding/sustainability issues – using our iCommons connection
  • Remain active as a council member
  • Work on any governance type issues that come up
  • Faciliate the next workshop
  • Will act as a mentor
  • Will help cherry pick new courses and organizers

Joel

  • will look into incorporation costs and insurance costs

Nadeem

  • will run a course (send draft outline around shortly)
  • help laurian to run the cyberpunk course again
  • help John with tech development/ planning

Philipp

  • Run a course
  • Make sure we have another workshop like this
  • Build stronger relationships with organisations to try out the social wrapper model
  • Organise the reputation as accreditation workshop
  • Make sure that all of the important things we identified during this meeting will get done in some way or other
