My name is Bea Alvarez, and I've recently moved to San Diego,CA from LA, I'm working at FAB LAB SD a digital fabrication lab. I'm a visual artist and I've working as web designer for 5 years, we need to redesign fablab site so it is a good time to refresh concepts and learn more about User Experience.
I love photography, design and interactivity, currently developing educational programs on creative computing for high school kids, and I am always looking forward to updating my skills and explore the web as a medium.

Hi! My name is Bob Downs and I'm just starting with Web Design. I'm taking courses in an AAS Web Design degree program at one of my local community colleges. Once I earn that degree, I plan to earn a Bachelor's degree in Web Development at Arizona State University (ASU).
My background is in word processing, pay layout and design, and other paper-related document creation. My forte is proofreading and editing and my website (http://www.bobodowns.info) reflects that. The site, as you can see, is a WordPress site that I've modified (after querying a few local WordPress gurus) to work more like a real website than just a blogging platform. So, at least..., I can be taught! :-)
I start the next semester of classes on Monday, January 24. The classes include "e-Commerce", "Web Level 2", "Flash", and "PhotoShop". I'm really excited about the two Adobe classes because I've seen several designs created using the Creative Suite that I LOVED!
I'm looking forward to this class, too, because I think it'll be a perfect companion to my college classes. And, I'm eager to work in Web Design.

Hey from Europe, Im' Raymond Uphoff! The Netherlands to be exact! You know wooden shoes, wind mills, Gouda cheese and Tulps (Actually tulps originate from Turkey but we're famous for them) and maybe for some of you interesting; our liberal drugspolicy. Hash and Mariuana are legal to buy in a cofeeshop but cofeeshops are not allowed to have more then about 500grams. So strange a condone-policy...... Enough about my little but crowded country.
I've worked for years in the Telecomsector, but it was too hectic and unsatisfying for me. I bumped into web design and developed. My first website was in WYSIWYG-modus in Macromedia Dreamweaver Wanted to know and understand more so surfed and learned a lot from various tutorials, articles on the internet. Did a study Communications and Multimedia Design but it was too slooowwwww and not really interesting. Only courses like User Interface Design, Cognitive Psychology, Usability had my interest.
Crashed a few years ago while working and doing study (Burn-out :-( ) and currently making a switch from employee at web development company (mostly Joomla CMS) to start my own little company. Okay guys that's it for now and really looking forward to this course.

I have, however, been doing some web design for quite some time - very basic HTML coding back in the mid-to-late 90s, some Dreamweaver and Frontpage during the early 00's, and more recently experimenting with CMS.

I have a wide variety of creative interests including electronic music and digital art, and I am very interested in the fusion of art and technology.
