Did you complete the Open Governance Course? (round two)

Hi everyone, I think that the course closure means that I can't directly respond to Phillip's note about keeping the course open.

As Phillip mentioned, I am also keen to keep discussing this topic. The community I am with, Crisiscommons.org, just finished a round of goverance paperwork. We are on the cusp of big changes. All my focus was on that topic. I believe that this unique forum to talk with others who are interested in Open Governance should be keep going.

Hello Everyone:

This was clearly not a typical P2PU course. I was absent for much of it. Greg mostly organized one of the weeks, but then couldn't join the call during hiw week either. People posted fascinating ideas, but in a somewhat random and disconnected fashion. We floated in and out of conversations.

Hi all,

As you may have understood from the way I introduced
myself to this community, I don't have lots of direct first
hand experience in this space.

To help me think (or at least try to think!) constructively
on this topic, I think it might be useful to have some common
definitions (I think this was raised elsewhere, specifically
regarding what constitutes governance) - if tight definitions
are difficult, at least some common understanding of the
terms we are using.

Hi all,

I spent some time this evening trying to understand what I
need to do wrt to preparing a blog post. However, I did not
manage to get my thoughts in order.

I was wondering if anyone uses the IRC - I think it would be
useful for me to bounce some questions off people - not
sure if anyone else feels the same. (I guess that's a key aspect
of the P2PU concept - no?)

@Philipp - do you have any good solutions to IRC co-ordination
for groups such as this?

A few of you have started adding links, ideas, notes. I was hoping that would happen - this really is intended as a group effort where everyone shares with everyone else. I am wondering what the best way is to make it easy for us to point out interesting readings and things we come across. Here is a strawman idea, feel free to change! If many of us are using del.icio.us or diigo, we could also set up a resources tag/group there? Thoughts?

The doodle shows clearly that synchronous discussions are going to be a challenge in this globally distributed group. I'll send out another scheduling link (using the tool Stian suggested) with more flexible time slots next week, but I didn't want to confuse everyone now.

The time that seems to work for the largest number of people is

As you have noticed we are taking things slowly this first week, mostly focusing on logistics and getting ourselves organized.
