Hi! My name is Marielle. I led "Learn Python the Hard Way" last semester.
This course is based on the book Dive into Python by Mark Pilgrim and is freely available. You can either choose to download the .zip file containing the .pdf and associated files, or you can read the book online. Please note for non-native speakers of English that the book may have been translated into your native language.
Dive into Python is meeting on the forums only.
Let's dive into Python! If you know another programming language but have heard great things about the power and flexibility of Python, but haven't quite gotten around to it, this course is for you! Hopefully during this course we will become fluent in Python as well as improve our understanding of computer science.

Hi again! So just how close to the course start date is signup? I see no link to register... basically I'm excited about the course and don't want to miss signing up, but "checking in every day to see if registration is open" seems like a sub-optimal solution. Any further clues to when registration will open?
Thanks, looking forward to the class!
Any news? 15 days from start
Any news? 15 days from start date and signup isn't enabled. Is this course still happening?

I think someone else wrote this book. Surely you mean "Dive into Python?" I hope I can take the class, been wanting to learn some python! Do you teach 2.7 or 3?

Whoops! I fixed it to "Dive into Python" in the short summary. We'll be using the Python 2 book at diveintopython.org. (Fun fact: Mark Pilgrim's "Dive into Python 3" had negative sales in Q3 of 2010. http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/f545e/i_am_a_fourtime_published_au... )
