Hi everyone,

I won't be able to make it for today's meeting but i left some annotations on the pad, which hopefully are still there after its sudden failure.
Many Thanks to Jessy and everyone else in this course, it's been great to have some feedback on learning; "Reading Code" is IMO a very cool idea for a course and hopefully will evolve and reach many more people.

Hola a todos:

I'll begin by sharing this nice video about Jquery's source, which proved very helpful to understand this library:

This week we're covering two different languages,C with node.js and javascript with the Jquery library and other js frameworks; so even as every project is different on its own, I guess we would be studying different paradigms this time.

This week we'll be doing covering Ruby frameworks. The two main ones we'll look at are Ruby on Rails and Sinatra. A third framework that came up in IRC that several people were interested in is Jekyll.

A place to post tools you are using-- or wish existed-- for reading code.

From the chat today it sounds like people are using:

grep to find keywords and chase down function names and definitions
eclipse which generates links between a function call and where it is defined
firebug and/or chrome developer tools for viewing generated page source, or setting breakpoints in javascript code.
