I thought I'd add the links for this week's call here on the discussion list.

Using WCAG 2.0 at a glance (http://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG20/glance/), we talked about color contrasts. I mentioned how a colleague (age 60+) had trouble with the UI colors in Office 2010. Logan mentioned using high contrast on his screen for when he is in a different environment (kind of like situational disability). Whew! I got my blog post up about the state of accessibility in Denmark. A lot of my references are in Danish, but I explain things in my post in English.

The big discovery for me was this: Accessibility – WCAG – for public sector sites is an obligatory, open standard.

That was good to see.

Weekly telephone conference

Today is Wednesday, but there won't be a telephone conference call today. Let's start next week, 29 September 2010 at 5:00 PM UTC/GMT.

The reason is I'm still struggling to find a free, accessible, browser-based tool for one-to-many sharing of my screen for an initial presentation. Skype allows only 1:1 screen-sharing, and Tokbox, a tool that has been recommended by P2PU, isn't free anymore for scheduled meetings. Also Tokbox is based on Flash and I doubt it's keyboard accessible.

Hi all,

I'm glad that you applied for this course although it's my first course at P2PU too, so please bear with me if I'm as unfamiliar with the P2PU tools as you are. ;)

I'd propose to have weekly, 1 hour telephone conferences. Skype is fine for the call and for a chat backchannel, but I believe it's impossible to share a presentation on my desktop with more than one recipient. Do you have any experience with it? Otherwise we could just use Tokbox, I'll figure out how to use it.
