It took me a while to find the test! Goodness, so many test makers around and the author delivers in MS Word... http://www.businessballs.com/freematerialsinword/vaklearningstylesquesti...

I am 40% visual, 30% auditory and 30% kinesthetic according to the test. However, it has two general features that make me seriously question it.

First of all, it comes from pre-computer era. It made me realize how tremendously communication and learning changed in the last twenty years. "When I first contact a new person, I usually..." - write them an email or text chat, duh!

Second, the test seems to confuse "auditory" and "people-oriented." I scored 1 out of 10 on music intelligence and I am not an auditory learner by how I see myself, yet I selected many of the auditory tasks because they had to do with people, while other options were solitary. For example:
8. When I am choosing a holiday I usually:
a) read lots of brochures
b) listen to recommendations from friends
c) imagine what it would be like to be there
My "listening" takes form of reading online, mostly. It's the "friend" part that is important.

Yes, I was surprised how hard it was to find a good online test. The one I've used is from a book. You make a good point about this one.

I blame the existence of copyright :-)

I agree with Maria on her critics.
Specially that often the auditory interaction is rather about communication with people. and I hesitated a lot when choosing an answer although I have clearly a visual learning style (66% V, 17% A, 17% K)

In fact,I prefer seeing "things" to understand and keep an image in memory, rather than hearing about, but I "love" discussing concerning these things with people, and this helps me a lot organize my ideas.
Concerning mathematics, I think that people with visual learning style are more comfortable with equations that they see on paper.
As I am concerned, I think that I enjoyed learning maths by making virtual images of the concepts in my mind.

My scores were:
Visual - 27%
Auditory - 13%
Kinaesthetic - 60%
I don't quite understand how these relate to my recently discovered study habits of watching recorded lectures over and over. Both video and audio. Avoid reading the textbook like the plague. I prefer to be in a classroom where there is back and forth interaction.

Visual 50%, Auditory 27% and Kinesthetic 23%.

I agree as I am a very visual learner. Though I think my percentages would have been different due to choices in some of the questions as mentioned above.

Visual 30%, Auditory 33% and Kinesthetic 44%

I am a hands-on person. While training, will try it first, get a better understanding and then prepare training material.
