I hope you all did not find my Post too abrasive. This is why Athletics:Our Food For Life is important to me.
Your post was my first
Your post was my first exposure to Mark Twight...he seems to be a very opinionated athlete. While I wasn't turned off by it, it did make me think a bit about the state of fitness in the USA and how often, the gungho, my-way-or-the-highway type thinking that Mark exhibits probably does turn off a lot of people (especially the people that need a fitness regiment).
Glad to read it though, thanks for sharing.

Hi everyone,
I would like to offer for everyone to comment on what they are consuming in their daily diet? Where do you feel at this point with your insight it can be better? and what Athletic activities are you currently involved with and completing?
Thank you for your responses in advance. Enjoy!

Right now I'm eating -about
Right now I'm eating
-about 1600 calories a day
-lots of veggies (mushrooms, spinach, carrots, tomatoes, peppers, squash, celery)
-oatmeal
-fish 3-4 times a week
-rarely eating red meat, rarely drinking alcohol
Since I'm shooting for losing a few more pounds, I think I'm doing exactly what I should be. Once I hit my target weight though I will most likely retain this dietary constraints but add 400 calories or more a day to check my weight.
I'm running 5-6 times a week (in the early morning before work) with long runs on weekends (I'm about half way through marathon training) and often do free weight/body weight exercises or yoga in the afternoon.
Sometimes its a rough schedule, but I've found mixing things up (trying new exercises, changing running routes, diversifying my diet/veggies) while keeping to my general workout/meal routine going is enough to keep things going.
Joseph, Thank you for your
Joseph,
Thank you for your wonderful post. I thank you for sharing your program. Excellent with the calorie intake and with the veggies and fish. They are a wonderful source of nutrients and offering you high nutrition density in your diet. You want to be heading towards the direction of high nutrition dense foods and move away from calorie dense foods. Fish and a high intake of vegetables do this.
Additionally regarding running that is wonderful and excellent. Excellent addition of yoga to the program that is allowing your body to regenerate to it's maximum. I also agree with your changing of the routines and exercises. Your body through natural selection conforms to the same routines, routes and speeds. to break this up more variety needs to be added as well as interval training can be an additional option. Keep enjoying your training and make your diet as rich as possible with high nutrition dense foods. When eating salad try to make it as colorful as possible to give yourself a wonderful array of nutrients and flavors.
Thank you and all the best. I will post some more activities shortly.
What are your thoughts on adding greater interval training to your program. Maybe some circuit training combined with long distance if time permits in your schedule.
All the best Joseph, keep growing and enjoying athletic development.

Before I start to think about
Before I start to think about athletics I guess it's more important to think about a way to quit smoking :p
Piano Sheet Music
Thank you for your post. Even
Thank you for your post. Even though you have a priority to quit smoking it is vital to begin with small activity or athletic exercises. Walking can be a begining with the pace slowly increased each and every time you exercise as well as this concept leading to a light jog and taking it from their. It is also important to stretch before and after exercise allowing your muscles to slowly adapt and prepare prior to exercise as well as cool down after exercise.
Thank you again. I will keep posting more activities.
