My name is Brian Collins. I'm a former social studies teacher. I taught grades 6-12 at international schools in Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Japan. I currently work at an IT company in Michigan and teach part-time at a university.
 
My PhD is from Michigan State in Ed Tech and Ed Psych. My dissertation focused on how a theoretically based online learning environment might help learners develop a deeper understanding of history and civics topics by working with a large number of real world cases in nonlinear fashion.
