Without a doubt I will be at the low end of the spectrum with respect to knowledge/skill level.  Although I have recently taken two college-level courses (Web design and Into to C++) and continue to find ways to apply that information to my work (corporate environment) I will be the first to admit I have a very long way to go. There are also other econiomic considerations; due to the corporate environment no one is ever safe from downsizing etc and I need to better position myself by expanding my knowledge/skill set.  Before I commit either my $$ or my employer's $$ I wanted to educate myself about the possibilities and I thought this course would be a great way to do that.  From what I've read so far, you folks are a talented group who are out there getting it done!  

I am the Manager of a web-based LMS and am responsible for delivering training content to a global audience in 13 languages.  There are some issues with the site which I know should be fixed.  I'm smart enough to know what needs to be done but not smart enough to assess when I should pay someone to do it or rather, with greater understanding, fix it myself or give better direction to those who will fix it.

In the interest of full disclosure I should also mention that I am responsible for monitoring Internet usage (North America only) and am hoping to gain greater understanding of how inappropriate content is making it past the filter and/or reduce the amount of time I spend identifying inappropriate content that did make it through.
