• I've always liked tinkering, reading and learning, I think in another age I would have been a scholar.
• I love the outdoors, camping, fishing, hiking and hunting.
• Webdev will be my 5th or 6th career; I worked as an electronics tech, a high school teacher, engineering field service in the process controls industry and marketing communications.
• My wife and I have one daughter in college.
• I'm a Christian whose faith informs every aspect of my life and being.
• I haven't been able to make time to put my own website together yet, though I'm hoping to finally have it up within another 4 weeks.

I left the corporate world a few years ago to start my own web design business. Having been responsible for the company's website content I thought I'd be able to pick up what I needed pretty easily to come up to speed. :|
Well, here it is almost 3 years later and I'm still trying to make the time to learn everything I need to know. I've been doing a lot of on-the-job-training, telling a client, "Oh yeah, I can do that." and then figuring out how to do it! It's been interesting, stressful at times and I have learned a lot.

I'm ready to get serious about my skill set and learing PHP. There is so much I want to do that I currently am unable to becasuse I simply don't have the tools. I'm fascinated by code and I'm hopeful that this will lead to my learning other languages as well. If I'm able to pick up PHP, really get it, then I would like to try my hand at Java or C++ next (I think), some language where I can work to build my firest mobile app ;)
