Assessment and Grading

For the KMD students based in Japan, grades will involve the following:

  • 40% Attendance and participation - The weekly real-time meetings, participation in the mailing list and at least weekly posts and comments on the blog will be required. 
  • 30% Class project - The overall quality of the process and final output of the group project as assessed by the instructor and a peer review system.
  • 20% Leadership - Overall quality of participation, leadership and helpfulness of participant in making the whole class a successful learning and production environment. 
  • 10% Understanding of the topic - Overall understanding of the subject material as measured by comments on the mailing list, in the meetings and in the final presentation of the project.

P2PU participants do not receive grades, but certificates will be made available to those who complete the course. "Completion" is based on:

  • Participation - Participation in the mailing list and at least weekly posts and comments on blogs and in the discussion forum
  • Class project - The overall quality of the process and final output of the project
  • Leadership - Overall quality of participation, leadership and helpfulness of participant in making the whole class a successful learning and production environment
