Group E - Getting Started

Go back to: General discussion

Hello, Group E!

Please get started on the following tasks, intended to help you get to know your fellow group members and get accustomed to communicating online.  Please use this Forum to get started on the following tasks ASAP.

  1. Introduce yourself to your classmates and explain why you are taking this course.
  2. Decide who will be responsible for submitting each of the group responses to the Case Scenarios.
  3. Figure out which technology will work best for your group to connect and collaborate throughout this course.  It may be a good idea to “meet” online at agreed times to discuss each week’s discussion questions or Case Scenario. (You are free to use the P2PU Forum for all of your group discussions if you think that will work best.  However, there are numerous other technologies out there that provide real time/live communication capabilities.  See the link for Communication Tools under Course Materials for some suggestions.)

Howdy,

Here goes:

  1. My name is Logan Cox and I work for a small nonprofit that uses robotics programs to get students excited about science, technology, engineering, and math. Primarily, I'm a web geek and IT guy, but I've become increasingly involved in the program side of things and with the design and production of educational materials. I signed up for this course because I'd like to have a better understanding of copyright law as it applies to the educational materials that my organization produces and the student work that we facilitate.
  2. If nobody else would prefer to go first, I'm happy to volunteer to submit Case Scenario #1 on 2010-Sept-28. (And if somebody else wants to go first, that's fine with me too.)
  3. I don't really have any strong preferences here, but setting up a regular chat sessions does seem like a good idea. I'm in the US Central Time Zone, I'm generally busy on Thursday evenings, and I'm not much of a morning person. Other than that, my schedule is pretty flexible. I'm most-conveniently (for me) available via AIM, Google Talk, or Yahoo! Messenger.

I'm excited to meet everybody and get started!

Logan
