Notification of research observation

Go back to: General discussion

Hi all, I am posting this on behalf of Eleonore Fournier-Tombs (eleonore.fourniertombs@utoronto.ca):

We are students from the University of Toronto, taking the collaborative course KMD2001 Pro-seminar in Knowledge Media Design on the theme of Values in Design (see the knowledge media design webpage at http://kmdi.utoronto.ca/).

Our group, consisting of Eleonore Fournier-Tombs, Arlo Murphy, Rebecca Michaels and Stian Haklev, will be observing interactions in the forum (and possibly in an interactive chat/webinar) for about one hour.

We will not be interacting with participants, and no confidential information will be recorded. We will not include any personally identifying information in our notes. Our research is for a class project, and all the outcomes of that project will be shared back with the P2PU community.

A participant information sheet is available online (http://reganmian.net/files/KMDI%201002_ParticipantInfoConsent.pdf). If you have any further questions, or wish to have your contributions to P2PU excluded from our observation, please e-mail Stian Haklev at stian.haklev [at] utoronto.ca and you can also contact our instructor karen.louise.smith [at] utoronto.ca of you have any concerns.

Thank you,

Eleonore, Arlo, Rebecca and Stian

Unfortunately the link to the participant information sheet in my post did not work properly, thank you Charles Danoff for pointing that out. It has now been fixed.

Hi Stian, would you be willing to make a short "guest blog" post about this on http://open-governance-and-learning.posterous.com/ ? I'm sure course participants would be interested to know how they were relevant to your study.
