This is the P2PU Archive. If you want the current site, go to www.p2pu.org!
You haven't posted any discussions yet.
The doodle shows clearly that synchronous discussions are going to be a challenge in this globally distributed group. I'll send out another scheduling link (using the tool Stian suggested) with more flexible time slots next week, but I didn't want to confuse everyone now.
The time that seems to work for the largest number of people is
Sat 25 Sep
0:00 - Tokyo (Friday night)
8:00 AM - San Francisco (Saturday)
5:00 PM - Berlin (Saturday)
I suggest we use tokbox video chat, and a telephone conference line as backup (in case tokbox gives us trouble).
Video chat
* Please get an account at www.tokbox.com and make me a friend (http://www.tookbox.com/phipps)
Telephone conference
* US Toll Free: +1 877 395 2347 (Please only use the toll-free number if you really need to)
* US Local / International +1 415 763 5901
Agenda (please add!):
* Overal course structure / planning / logistics
* Syllabus review
* Discussion of week 1 topic
Look fwd to speaking with some of you and apologies that I will be a little sleepy (I am in Tokyo on that day).
By the way - I just noticed that some people are still adding times to the doodle. If it looks like there will be a second slot that works for those who can't make the Sep 25 time, then I'd be happy to run a second seminar. So, if you haven't filled it out - please add your availability here:

This day/time is good!
For those of you in Tokyo. I think it's actually Saturday at midnight (not Friday as indicated). All other times are correct. I am time zone confused, and urge everyone to double check.
Let's use 8:00 AM San Francisco on Saturday 25 as our fix point.
Doh! Discovered that only after working around the time and staying up late. Guess I'll try again for tomorrow.
This is the neatest time zone calculator I've come across so far, except unfortunately only works for the following couple days. - http://everytimezone.com

Jason - ouch! Sorry for the confusion.
I've set up an etherpad that we can use for live note taking.
