Though as one narrows down on specific trusted sources ... on the one hand they'll gain cachet ... on the other hand, depending on the type of data, folks who want to hide things will know what sources and people to avoid.

@Josh There's a lot of other groups who do large doc dumps, like government attic, but I don't those sort of protocols have been developed beyond the basic meta data traditionally in PDFs, .docs, etc. We've been talking about that at MR, how it would be neat to have a group of "trust resources" like DC, Government Attic, NYTimes where you could search across them based on that data, if that makes sense.

This issue of identifying quality of the information and source seems to extend beyond doc cloud ... is there a meta protocol that could apply broadly to anything that's entered into the "information commons" around verifying quality/authenticity?
