Hi - I've been asked for a bit more detail on the Posterous blog a couple of times, so I'll try to detail what I know now. I'm also slightly updating the way I'm managing the blog, based on what I found in the new investigation. Details are below.
Those who are signed up to post via email can go right ahead and send email to open-governance-and-learning@posterous.com from the email address you registered -- and the email will be turned into a blog post straight away.
If you have not yet signed up and want to post, you can either sign up to post via email (send me a request with from the email address you want to use, at holtzermann17@gmail.com) or you can sign up for an account on Posterous following the instructions below.
The Posterous account will also give you the ability to *edit* or *tag* earlier posts using the web interface. (If you have only enabled email posting but want to do more with the blog, you'll have to go through this second step - sorry about that, but I don't make the rules on Posterous!)
To create a Posterous account, go to https://posterous.com/ and follow the instructions. Then visit http://open-governance-and-learning.posterous.com and click on the link in the panel at the right that says "Follow this site" (towards the bottom). You'll then be added as a "Subscriber". I can then upgrade the account to "Contributor" or "Administrator" status.
A "Contributor" will be able to post via the web, but it appears that you need "Administrator" status to edit or tag earlier posts. From now on, the policy I'll use is to make anyone who is signing up with a Posterous account (as opposed to simple email posting) into an "Administrator", so that you'll all have this ability. (This only applies to people who I know are in the course!)
Once logged in with a fully enabled Posterous Administrator account, you can tag and edit posts via the "Manage" link that appears at the top of the blog page. You'll find a table with the posts listed in it, and a box at the right with an arrow that can be set to "Edit", "Delete", "Tag" or "Autopost". You can also tag entries from within "Edit" mode, using the "Post options" tab at right.
I hope this answers all of your questions about using Posterous, but if not, please follow up here so we can collect information about the service in a centralised place. I'm sorry this is complicated (but it should at least work).
