Hello friends,
This is with regards to my interest in conducting a qualitative research for our course, with a larger aim of trying to understand aspects of peer-to-peer learning - how do we interact and learn from each other? what are our motivations? what makes this model of learning/ education work and what does not?
I am a student at the School of Information, UC Berkeley and as I mentioned before, I am very interested in the topic of mashups and the open web. While I participate in the class, I also intend to conduct an online “participant observation” - I plan to observe how our classes proceed (video calls and discussions on the website) and take extensive notes of the same. I would be interested in interacting with you and interviewing you about your thoughts about P2PU and in general.
When referring to any thoughts by specific people in written reports, I would not use any actual names to eliminate, to the extent possible, concerns about privacy. We would be aware though that all the content that we post on the P2PU website is public.
I write this post to seek your consent for my intended work described above. Please contact me if you have concerns of any kind or need more clarity. I hope to continue this research and use methods mentioned, only if they are agreeable to all.
I am keen to talk to you (voice, email, IM) about your background, expectations and experiences with P2PU. If you have some time that you wouldn’t mind spending in a little chit-chat, please do let me know.
Thanks
Tanushree
