Hi all,

I'm glad that you applied for this course although it's my first course at P2PU too, so please bear with me if I'm as unfamiliar with the P2PU tools as you are. ;)

I'd propose to have weekly, 1 hour telephone conferences. Skype is fine for the call and for a chat backchannel, but I believe it's impossible to share a presentation on my desktop with more than one recipient. Do you have any experience with it? Otherwise we could just use Tokbox, I'll figure out how to use it.

But first we need to find a time for the telcon. In which timezone do you live? As the next step I'll set up a poll for the most convenient time slots, but I'll have to get a rough idea first where on the planet you are to narrow it down.

Furthermore it would be nice to get a better picture of all course members, so if you haven't done it already: please provide a little more information about yourself in your profile and add a profile picture.

And remember to do your homework for the first week, i.e. get familiar with the UN charter on the rights of people with disabilities, if your country has signed it, and what kind of web accessibility laws exist in your country. It's sufficient to get a rough picture so that you can participate in a discussion and compare to countries of other members in this group. The assignment for week 2 is to write a short blog post about that. If you need any help, please let me know.

Cheers,
Martin

So we've got a range from UTC-5 to UTC+5.30. I suppose a reasonable time would be between 1pm and 4pm UTC then as a compromise. I've set up a Doodle poll where you can pick a convenient time and weekday (just ignore the date). Please submit your preference until Sunday so that we can begin next week.

Seems we have a winner, so Wednesday at 5:00 PM UTC/GMT it is. I'm currently at an accessibility conference in London and will send you details where and how to login for the conference call in about 24 hours. If that time doesn't work for you at all, please let me know and we can try to find a second slot.
