Hi there everyone,
We're on our way!!!
I wanted to share what I have utlized for productivity. I became an OpenOffice Fan when Sun first rolled it out years ago..and have been a fan since. I have it on my netbook. It is not as fancy as microsoft office, but it works!!!! I also am a heavy user of Google Docs, working to familiarize myself w/Joomla (for website development for a startup I am workikng on) and maintain my personal blog/portal on Blogger.
More to come!!!
"See" you all later.
:-)
Mike
My list is similar - I use Google Apps, OpenOffice, PBWorks, Blogspot, and recently began using OfficeApps since the college uses live email accounts for students. I also use VoiceThread and a number of other Web 2.0 tools.
I know about Open Office & Google Docs, etc. but have not really used them. This is my first venture in to open anything and I am overawed… You all are so knowledgeable and experienced. I may not be able to contribute much to any of our discussions, but I will definitely learn a lot!
Hi Lisa - I feel exactly the same.....I thought I knew quite a bit, but all these posts...which are fast & furious, its kinda of intimidating and wondering if I'm in the right place??
Hi Sunita,
I know that all the posts can be somewhat overwhelming but we were all just where you were a short time ago and I hope that you'll hang in there. Read the posts when you have time but don't feel like you have to keep up on every little thing -- there is a way to cut down the number of times per day that you receive messages. Do participate in our weekly forums as you have and try to find a project to join. More about reducing email notifications and team project opportunities will be coming shortly.
Best,
Una
Most of us with more more experience can learn our most important lesson from you - that everybody has different levels of technological expertise, and this must be taken into consideration when using technology to design learning for students. We want our students to be able to spend their time learning the core content of our course, not the technology we used to deliver our instruction.
I use Dropbox which is a free online storage site for up to 2GB. This is useful for students who do not have a flash drive (and they are many at my school). I have links to sites on Blackboard, but they are not open sources.
Susan
I use youTube videos and many free online journals. They are not open in a sense that I can’t edit them, but at least I use them free of charge. I also use slideshare, Google docs, and sometimes wikis.
...Claver
Open office tools for wordprocessing, spreadsheet etc.

Hi Susan:
I also use Dropbox. I used to use Drop.Io, but they went away.
For me, this is the most frustrating thing about cloud solutions - they come and go faster than my grandchildren change their socks!

youtube content isn't cc licensed though - better to use vimeo.
I use PBWorks, Wikidot, Google Docs, and Dropbox.
